You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term. If your breathing is shallow, muscles are pulling and cramping, and bones are fighting for position, I can help. If you are recovering from trauma or surgery, or if you just need to melt on the table and receive relaxational or therapeutic bodywork, I can help.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
Becoming a bodywork professional has been a wonderful journey. It will be my honor to serve your massage therapy and acupressure needs and to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. In addition to being a licensed Massage Therapist, I am also a certified Medical Massage Therapist, and a Registered Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® practitioner. *
After spending over 20 years as a paramedic, I personally understand the emotional and physical benefits of massage therapy and bodywork. I have had my share of challenges and injuries from a physically demanding and stressful career in public safety and have relied on massage and bodywork for my own health and well-being.
As a graduate and instructor at Cohutta Healing Arts Institute (CHAI) School of Massage, I am empowered by caring and knowledgeable instruction in the art of massage therapy. The superior Certification requirements at CHAI helped me to establish a strong base of techniques and clinical experience to be confident in my abilities to meet the needs of a variety of clients.
I look forward to seeing you in my Ellijay office soon.

* About Jin Shin Do®: "Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension, balance the “Qi” or energy, and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acu-theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, Jin Shin Do® acupressure was originated by Iona Marsaa Teeguarden.
